Cuyahoga Falls Library & Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Partnership (DTCF Partnership) is hosting its annual literary festival Authors at the Falls on Saturday, March 7. The free event will feature workshops, creative activities and opportunities for all writers and readers to win prizes and hone their literary skills.
Authors at the Falls originated at the Cuyahoga Falls Library and has continued to grow from year to year in partnership with the DTCF. This year’s event will include a variety of local businesses and allow participants to visit a number of locations in downtown Cuyahoga Falls.
“We were eager to plan and host this literary event with the Cuyahoga Falls Library as it will be a great way to showcase the walkability of downtown and variety of local businesses,” says Abigail Poeske, Executive Director at DTCF Partnership. “We are excited that we have been able to plan this as a free and accessible program for our community with the support of the library.”
The formal programming will start at 1 p.m. with “The Power of Words,” a workshop focused on journaling and meditation with HARVEST yoga + wellness in the Downtown Pavilion. “Creating a Rich Writing Life” presented by Literary Cleveland will follow and local author & Story Club Founder Dana Norris will host “The Storytelling Code” to provide specific ways you can turn your experiences into riveting true stories.
The day will conclude around 4 p.m. with a popular Book & Beer Pairing at a local bar. Additional literary-centric creative activities will be offered throughout the day as well at various locations along Front Street.
“Our community has shown a great interest in writing and literary workshops,” says Jennifer Reynard, Adult Services Manager at CFL. “This partnership will allow us to transform Authors at the Falls to reach new audiences and engage our downtown neighborhood.”
