With Changes, Libraries Gradually Expanding Services

With so many parts of our lives interrupted, it’s nice to know that our public libraries have found a way to safely accommodate patrons.

All Cuyahoga County Public Library branches are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with drive-through and curbside service also available.

Libraries in surrounding counties have also begun to open their doors to patrons, with a limit on the number of people allowed inside and other accommodations to ensure patron safety.

Things will look different at your local library the next time you stop in. What hasn’t changed is the commitment to serving patrons, with programs moving online or outdoors.

And remember, patrons can continue to download books and magazines, videos and music on their smartphones, tablets and e-readers. All you need is a library card and the app through your library system website.

We all know that libraries offer more than books, movies and music. You can get a voter registration form at most libraries or register online.
