Crafters, Entrepreneurs Find a Home at Geauga County Library’s Maker Space

Geauga County Public Library system is the latest to join the Makerspace movement.

Information sessions have started to help patrons learn about how to use all the interesting (and expensive!) craft and tech equipment at the library system’s Inspiration Station in the Bainbridge Branch of the library.

Equipment includes:

  • 3D Printer
  • 3D Scanner
  •  Cricut Maker
  • Embroidery Machine
  • Heat Press
  • Large Format Printer
  • Laser Engraver
  •  Sewing Machines
  • Sublimation Printer
  • Vinyl Cutter

Using the equipment is free. You will bring in your own materials as much as possible such as T-shirts, hats, paper, Cricut vinyl, wood, glass, etc. You will only have to pay for ink, large vinyl, embroidery thread, and 3D printer filament. There will be a $1 minimum for every machine. Check out the Price List in the Maker Space for more information. Crafters, teachers, entrepreneurs and others are all welcome to use the equipment.

What can I make?
The options range depending on the equipment and what you can imagine. Library staff will  work with patrons to see how we can make your ideas a reality. Some of the creations possible with the library’s equipment are:

• 3D Figurines  • 3D Prototype   • Appliques   • Bag Designs   • Banners   • Cards   • Coins   • Containers   • Embroidered Designs   • Engraved Drinkware   • Labels   • Mask Accessories   • Monograms   • Ornaments   • Posters   • Puzzles   • Signs   • Stickers   • Tools   • Trophies   • T-Shirt & Sweatshirt Designs
