Cleveland GardenWalk Dates Set

Summer in Northeast Ohio caters to the staycation crowd. And one of the highlights is the Cleveland GardenWalk.
Before firming up your summer plans, make sure to leave room for the free, annual tour of gardens. This year it’s Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
For the first time, Ohio City will join 10 other neighborhoods that participated last year: Broadway Slavic Village, Clifton Baltic, Collinwood, Detroit Shoreway (includes Edgewater Park), Fairfax, Glenville, Little Italy, Old Brooklyn, Tremont and West Park.
The best part of the tours is that they’re self-guided, so you amble at your own pace. Most gardeners stay close by and happily answer questions about their interesting, sometimes quirky and always creative flower beds and outdoor spaces.

Gardens Wanted
Do you want to open your garden in July? If you live in one of the above neighborhoods, consider joining. Your garden doesn’t have to be fancy or professionally maintained. In fact, that’s the best part of the gardens.  It can be brand new, in process, or decades-old, vegetables and/or flowers and more.

You choose whether to show the front, side and/or rear yard. If you are proud of your garden, have put some effort into it and you live in one of 2023’s participating neighborhoods (see above), GardenWalk needs you, but you’d better hurry. Go to the Add Garden page on the GardenWalk website . The deadline to sign up your garden is May 30th. If you are not sure whether your address is in a participating neighborhood, are unable to register online or have other questions, email [email protected].

GardenWalk is a great way to share tips and gardening know-how and to get ideas for your yards, from deer-resistant plants, to fountains, yard art, shade gardens, vegetable gardens and more.

Encourage your neighbors to participate—the more gardeners clustered together, the better the event is.
