22nd Annual Race for the Place Supports The Gathering Place

On Sunday, June 5, thousands of residents throughout the Cleveland area will head over to Beachwood Place for the 22nd annual Race for the Place benefiting The Gathering Place. In celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day, participants can help raise funds to support the free programs and services offered by The Gathering Place to those impacted by cancer. Registrants are welcome to either walk or run the one mile or you can sign up to run or walk the 5K, which will be chip timed for the runners.
“Each year, we are inspired to see such strong community support for our organization,” says Michele Seyranian, CEO of The Gathering Place. “It is because of their generosity and dedication that we can continue to provide free programming and services to all who face a life altering cancer diagnosis. We are especially thankful to be able to be back in person this year to celebrate with the community.”
The proceeds from the Race for the Place help keep the services offered at The Gathering Place free of charge, these include support groups, children’s programming, art therapy, nutrition and exercise classes, education and more. Over its twenty-two-year history, the annual event has raised over $6 million for The Gathering Place and those touched by cancer.
