Fort Laurens is hosting a small group of World War 1 reenactors, who will make a small “campsite” on the grounds. Guests will get to interact with the reenactors and learn more about the American army during this major world conflict. Fort Laurens Revolutionary War Reenactment
Come to Fort Laurens, the site of Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort, for their annual Revolutionary War reenactment on May 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and June 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Watch a mock skirmish for American Independence with volunteer reenactors from the Brigade of the American Revolution. Learn about 18th-century life from a variety of different demonstrations including music, artillery, cooking, medicine and discussions with Colonial and British soldier reenactors. The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will hold their annual meeting at Fort Laurens on July 25. The SAR will also perform a traditional D.C.-style Changing of the Guard ceremony in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We kindly ask attendees to keep quiet and avoid interruptions during the ceremony. This event is free to attend.
