We’re devoting our July/August issue to technology. It’s a big topic and one that can be especially frustrating for older adults.
As the generation that grew up drinking from garden hoses, riding bikes without helmets and navigating interest rates in the high teens, we should be able to figure out our TV remote control, right? And don’t get us started on transferring information to a new laptop.
I recently saw a perfectly capable-looking couple in their 60s struggle with the Uber app at the airport when a flight got canceled and they needed to get to an airport. “The kids said it was easy,” I overheard the woman say to her husband. But if you’ve never used the Uber app, it can be confusing; it’s enough to rattle anyone’s tech confidence and leave you stranded at an airport late at night.
What’s your biggest tech issue? Do you have a tech low point you want to share with us? What about a success story to inspire others who have lost their tech mojo? Send your story or question to us and we’ll try to include it (with an answer) in our July/August issue. Technology can be fun and helpful but also incredibly annoying. We get it. Let’s see what we can do about it.
