A Sunflower Season for a Cause

A Sunflower Season for a Cause

Do you like flowers?

How about sunflowers?

Throw in a good cause? Irresistible.

Maria’s Field of Hope in Avon has been drawing visitors to its colorful acres of sunflowers since 2013. The field was planted by The Prayers from Maria Foundation in the memory of Maria McNamara to draw attention to the need for money to fight childhood cancer.

Visitors are welcome from dawn to dusk. Donations are accepted to help develop a treatment for kids with glioma brain tumors.

The field is located between the Lear-Nagle and state Route 83 exits off Interstate 90 at the intersection of Chester and Jaycox roads.

The foundation has opened Maria’s Field of Hope at Cedar Point next to the resort’s  Express Hotel, 1201 Cedar Point Dr.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Learn more at prayersfrommaria.org/Maria-s-Fields-of-Hope.
