A holiday favorite returns this month but a bit more gracious than usual (although that hardly seems possible at the sprawling mansion and grounds). Stan Hywet’s Deck the Hall: Gracious Gatherings opens Nov. 25-Dec. 30 in Akron.
The estate is decorated with one million holiday lights, and the Manor House decorations are inspired by the theme ofGracious Gatherings. The look is a traditional Christmas —with some whimsy in the mix — for all to enjoy. Traditional: The Music Room will be decorated in red, green and gold, and highlight Gertrude Seiberling’s musical talents. In a departure from previous years, the room will stay fully furnished and holiday dresses from Gertrude and other family members will be part of the display. Whimsical: The West Porch will be filled with animals in tuxes, gnomes taking a bubble bath and a woodland Santa in a forest with a flocked tree. Thirty trees in 19 spaces in the Manor House will be decorated.
Outside, the gardens and grounds will again be lit with 1 million holiday lights. Dazzle in the Great Garden features three holiday songs choreographed to the display of lights.
