Rhodendrens, azaelas and other late-spring show offs get all the attention, but the lowly dandelion is worthy of a look, too, regardless of what landscapers say. The cheery flowers attract pollinators, the roots aerate soil, and folks use almost every part of the plant for tinctures and food. Still not convinced? Then why not enjoy looking at them from your car?
The annual self-driving and free Medina Dandelion Tour is set for noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19. It’s sponsoreed by the four historical societies in the northeast region the Medina County: Wadsworth Area Historical Society, Seville Historical Society, Northern Ohio Railway Museum and Chippewa Lake Ohio Historical Society.
Each location will feature artifacts, history, displays and more. To request a tour map, email [email protected] or go online to brunswickhistory.com.
