‘Random Acts of Fun’ Scavenger Hunt Benefits Community Partnership on Aging

Looking for a novel way to have fun over several days while supporting a worthy cause? The Community Partnership on Aging scavenger hunt/fundraiser, Random Acts of Fun, will be held September 12-22.

Originally devised in 2020 as a socially distanced fundraiser in place of the CPA’s annual chili cook-off, the event takes place over a number of days and locations, and challenges participants to take part in a scavenger hunt for prizes. Proceeds benefit CPA programs for local seniors.

This year’s event takes place within the communities that the CPA serves – South Euclid, Lyndhurst, Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield and Richmond Heights.

The more tasks participants complete – 65 in all – the more points they earn. Grand prizes are then awarded for most points earned and most money raised. Each participant will compete individually, although co-workers are encouraged to register as corporate teams.
The scavenger hunt is designed to take place at your leisure, using an app called Goosechase.com (available on Android and iOS). It’s either photo, text or GPS (tasks) — so you would have to take a photo of something, type an answer to something or check in via GPS in order to earn points.
There will be daily challenges and prizes, including points for fundraising money for CPA. Everyone who participates will receive a swag bag of goodies, as well as a coupon card that is good at local businesses and restaurants.
Random Acts of Fun is open to people of all ages. The cost to take part is $35 for adults and $15 for those 16 and younger. To register for Random Acts of Fun, visit here.
