Petal Power: What’s Blooming at Holden Forests & Gardens

Have you noticed that spring is early this year?

Northeast Ohio’s blooming trees and shrubs are about two weeks ahead of schedule. One way to keep up with what’s blooming when is through the Holden Forests & Gardens website which offers a blooming schedule called “It’s Poppin’!”

No one says you can’t make a spontaneous trip over to the arboretum and see what’s popping, but if you want to plan a visit, the website makes it easy.

While you’re there, for an additional charge you can get a sweeping view of the surrounding landscape with a visit to the Kalberer Emergent Tower. If heights aren’t your thing (it’s 12 stories high and 202 steps with places to rest on the climb up), then consider the Murch Canopy Walk (also an additional charge). Both are fun places to visit at this time of year. Check admission times and availability on the website before you before you go.

At University Circle, Cleveland Botanical Garden offers a more formal flower experience. You can find more details on the website.
