Join us for a talk on Andrew Carnegie, the millionaire steel magnate whose philanthropy played a key role in the Akron-Summit County Public Library’s beginning. Presented by actor Jim Knight.

A presentation on the life of the legendary Andrew Carnegie, from his humble beginnings as the son of a weaver to his work as bridge builder, steel maker, and eventually, the richest man in the world.

Jim Knight will share about Carnegie’s colorful and challenging life and about other businessmen, workers, and world leaders Carnegie surrounded himself with.

Finally, he will share about Andrew Carnegie’s dedication to world peace and philanthropy in benefiting education and libraries all over, and how Mr. Carnegie’s philanthropy played a key role in Akron-Summit County Public Library’s beginning.
