Fighting Fraud: How BBB Can Help You

 Fighting Fraud
By Better Business Bureau Serving Greater Cleveland

For more than 100 years, Better Business Bureau® (BBB) has been helping people find businesses, brands and charities they can trust. BBB Serving Greater Cleveland introduces this Boomer blog, Fighting Fraud, detailing how you can protect yourself from fraudsters targeting our community, your personal information and your money.

Each year, millions of people turn to BBB to find trustworthy businesses by researching BBB Business Profiles and Charity Reports. BBB provides its services for free to the community. BBB offers tools to help request quotes from businesses, leave customer reviews, and provide dispute resolution/mediation services.

Locally, BBB also works closely with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, providing them valuable information on potential frauds. We are often the first organization to know about a developing scam. In the coming months, we hope Fighting Fraud will keep you informed of these latest scams, provide tips to avoid fraud, help you protect your identity, and more.

If you have a scam you want to alert the community about, you can report them at BBB.org/ScamTracker.

If you need to file a complaint against a business, you can do so online at https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint/search.

To reach out to your local BBB office to take complaints over the phone, report scams, or get business information, call 216.241.7678 or email [email protected].
