LAURA HICKLI (Progressive Art Pop)

Laura Hickli (Mohkínstsis/Calgary) is an internationally touring progressive art pop songstress known for her tightly arranged dreamy soundscapes, exquisite vocals, evocative lyrics, and emotionally powerful performances. The classically trained pianist was homeschooled in a conspiracy-laden religious household where she honed her ability to reflect deeply felt emotions through dynamic, textured, and technical songwriting and production.

During the tour of her latest record ‘Both Feet In The World, At Least I Can Stand,’ (North Pole Records) Laura and her band suffered a serious motor vehicle accident that left Laura with PTSD and a traumatic head injury. After nearly a year in recovery, she emerges with gripping and exceedingly personal new music birthed during her chaotic grieving process.

Hickli has a knack for creating art out of life’s ebbs and offering a small gift of resilience to the returning tides. A performer in several award-winning projects, Hickli’s personal works continue to receive radio play on CBC, BBC+, Top Album of the Year awards, and accolades from The Big Takeover, Cups N Cakes and more.

Currently preparing to record her new album ‘stranger to myself’ at The National Music Centre following her a two-month international tour this summer, Hickli’s developing story offers a fresh and inviting look at what life can be, while carrying the foundations of her spellbindingly intimate, yet explosive brand of dark process-music.

ANGIE HAZE (Creep Pop)

Award Winning Singer Songwriter, Angie Haze is a queer fronted act with songs that advocate for equality, Mother Earth and the Animal Kingdom. She likes to call it, “music for the under dogs.”

Haze is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer. Her latest sound is evocative and experimental. Similar to the eeriness one feels watching a Tim Burton film combined with a whimsical and colorful character like Willy Wonka, Haze’s listeners are sure to visualize something of the sort while playing her music. She has created her own genre she calls, “creepop”. Riveting and poignant, it features haunting vocal arrangements and infectious melodies.

Angie Haze’s gritty and captivating performance features four-part vocal arrangements along with saxophone, drums, keyboards, guitars, bass, and a plethora of Earthquaker Devices.

CHRISSY STRONG (Soulful Singer-Songwriter)

Chrissy Strong is an emerging singer/songwriter from Akron, Ohio. A self-taught musician, her songwriting is rooted in soulful, edgy piano ballads with the raw and free-flowing approach of muses like Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Agnes Obel, and Fiona Apple.

In 2020 Strong released her debut single, Send Angels, that offers a tender and haunting reflection on encounters with love and longing, fear and desperation—and the many forms they take. Strong has developed a fan following moved by her spirited live performances and brave and honest storytelling.

Blue Hour is an indie rock band from Akron, OH. Their eclectic sound will take you on a journey through catchy melodies, thoughtful songwriting and feelings you may have forgotten about. The band will be releasing their debut LP, “THIS IS THE DREAM” on July 12, 2024. Blue Hour is Justin Mills (Vocals/Guitar), Trevor Matthews (Guitar/Pedal Steel), Kevin Vinci (Bass), and Matt Modena (Drums).
