Christmas Holiday Symbols

December 5, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Event Navigation

Local nature speaker Chuck Jakubchak will discuss how many non-religious symbols have become part of holiday traditions.

For hundreds of years Christmas celebrations have been intertwined with plants, trees and the environment as well as an assortment of popular songs. Join us for this program as local nature speaker Chuck Jakubchak will discuss how many non-religious symbols have become part of our holiday tradition. You will learn why we decorate with wreaths and erect evergreens and discover the origin of related traditions like singing about roasting chestnuts, wishing for a white Christmas and admiring a slightly misfit reindeer. Take a break from the busyness of December and relax during this festive library program.

Registration is requested and begins on September 5th at 9:00 a.m. Program sponsored by the Friends of Strongsville Branch Library.
