Fast Flag Facts for the Fourth of July

Don’t wear it, don’t tip it, and don’t fly it upside down (unless you need help).

Many of us display the stars and stripes proudly, especially on the Fourth of July. But there’s a bit of flag flying etiquette that you should keep in mind if you’re displaying Old Glory. Did you know there’s a Flag Code?

The Chamber of Commerce website usflag.org is a good place to brush up on almost everything having to do with the flag, from its history to its disposal when it gets too shabby to display.

For example, the flag should never be used to carry anything in. And those disposable napkins with a flag on them? That’s also a no-no, according to flag etiquette.
