Tall Ships Return to Cleveland’s Lakefront

Tall Ships Return to Cleveland’s Lakefront

I don’t care how many times you see a movie or TV show with tall ships, they’re 100 percent more impressive in person.

Of course, that’s true for many things: castles, fireworks, bears. I’m throwing that last example in because of recent bear sightings around Northeast Ohio; the last I heard, the bear was roaming around suburban Akron. I hope it’s made its way to rural southern Ohio by now. I’ll have to check online for an update. But I’m getting a bit off track.

Cleveland’s Tall Ships Festival kicks off Thursday, July 7 and runs through Sunday, July 10. Discount tickets are available for people 65 and older. The four-day waterfront festival features live entertainment, historical exhibits, food, beverages and an opportunity to board the Tall Ships (for an extra fee).

PARKING
Handicap and general parking is available for festival attendees at 101 Erieside Avenue. Parking is limited in these lots, so plan accordingly. Please note, event parking rates will be in effect and many lots are cash only. For a full list of parking lots located in downtown Cleveland, click here.

I’ve gone water skiing a few times over the years, and the only thing I remember is where my swimsuit bottom ended up when my backside hit the water. That’s probably not an issue for the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team in Medina.
