LIVE LOCAL MUSIC
Bringing the community together and showcasing Cleveland’s live local music scene and the programs that support emerging artists is a jam-packed performance schedule on the PNC Rock Hal Live Stage. Headlining the event is Mourning [A] BLKstar, the winners of the 2021 Cleveland Arts Prize: Emerging Artist Award. Throughout the day catch Resident Rocker alumni Jack Harris, Sarah Bailey, M.O.O.K.Y., and Marcus Smith; Tri-C High School Rock Off winner’s Detention; Goodyear Garage to Glory winner Sarah Faith; and artists showcasing Cleveland’s music talent, including fusion., Nathan Paul and the Admirables, Marc Lee Shannon and The Mechanics.
Continuing to connect rock & roll and Inductees with Cleveland, and in partnership with Destination Cleveland and Radio One, fans can join a community line dance on the plaza to Kraftwerk’s song “Trans-Europe Express.” The song highlights how music transcends race, a concept that started in Cleveland with DJ Alan Freed, and to acknowledge a deeply rooted block party / family reunion tradition that was started by the Cleveland Black community back in the 80’s and continues through today.
FESTIVAL VILLAGE
The Festival Village on the plaza is a must for music lovers. It highlights the clubs and record shops preserving Cleveland’s rock legacy along with an assortment of tees, hoodies, posters, hats, vinyl and more. Fans can find exclusive merchandise from the Rock Hall’s store, Current Year record shop, Brittany’s record shop, A Separate Reality record store, Bop Stop, Beachland Ballroom, Grog Shop and band merchandise from performing acts.
COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Showcasing the power of music, the Rock Hall’s education team has family activities planned and community partners will be onsite throughout the day, including the Cleveland Institute of Art, Keep Music Alive where you can learn about their Instrument Petting Zoo, and Hungry for Music, accepting used instruments for their donation collection. All donors will be entered to win Induction tickets.
FIREWORKS
Bringing it home is a firework show set to songs from the 2021 Inductees. The fireworks can be viewed from the Rock Hall’s Union Home Mortgage Plaza and various locations around town.
Celebration Day Powered by PNC kicks off a week of activities leading up to the 36th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Oct. 30 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Tickets are on sale now at RocketMortgageFieldHouse.com.
The Rock Hall and PNC Bank come together throughout the year to unite and empower Greater Cleveland. Celebration Day Powered by PNC connects and engages local residents using the power of rock & roll. It amplifies a longstanding relationship that also includes Rock Hall Live! and education initiatives such as Rock Hall EDU, Toddler Rock and Rockin’ The Schools, all powered by PNC and reaching more than one million students.
