Considering all the violence in Afghanistan, Ukraine and elsewhere, I recognize am so lucky to live in the U.S. – a free citizen of the world. Local Social Security offices will restore in-person services, including for people without an appointment, on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Kilolo Kijakazi, Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, made this announcement following a period of COVID-19 precautions that had kept Social Security offices closed for several months.
