When we launched Northeast Ohio Boomer in 2015—a lifestyle magazine dedicated to Better Living after 50 throughout the region—we didn’t realize it would become a nationally recognized, award-winning powerhouse.
We set out to celebrate Northeast Ohio as a positive place to thrive in the second half of life with refreshingly real and regionally rooted editorial content. Published by Mitchell Media LLC along with Northeast Ohio Parent and Walden Life magazines, Northeast Ohio Boomer is entirely locally-owned, produced, sourced and generated. Despite our local focus, the magazine has gained national acclaim.
Year after year, we bring home several awards from NAMPA (North American Mature Publishers Association). The just-announced 2023 NAMPA Awards provide more reasons to celebrate, with Northeast Ohio Boomer magazine garnering 10 awards for editorial content and design, including First Place for General Excellence and First Place for Overall Design.

The How-To Feature package submission included Bucket List Blueprint by Traci McBride, Bucket List Travel Planning by Estelle Rodis-Brown, and Don’t Forget the People Part by Marie Elium.
This Table of Contents page for the May/June 2023 issue was dominated by a giant melting ice cream cone, perfect for our Savor Summer theme.
Our winning cover photo was the Nov/Dec 2022 holiday issue, featuring Rob Trhlin of Donna’s Christmas Trees.
The submitted Feature Layout entry was the Bucket List set of articles featured in the Jan/Feb 2023 issue.
We also earned two second-place awards in Editorial/Opinion and Profile categories, both written by editor Marie Elium. (We fall under Division B, which is made of publications with circulations of 25,000-50,000.)
