To help residents avoid unnecessary costs and delays when settling an estate, the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office is once again hosting Great Estates Program outreach events. The program provides guidance and documents for real estate, bank accounts, motor vehicles, and other personal property to ensure that assets are passed directly to the intended beneficiary. Information on the importance of trusts in estate planning will also be discussed.
“Planning an estate can be a challenging and confusing process, and that is why we are here to help,” says Michael Chambers, Cuyahoga County’s Fiscal Officer. “The Great Estates Program offers residents the resources they need to file an estate, along with guidance from experts to better explain the procedure.”
The County’s Fiscal team will join Probate Court representatives for a presentation and provide residents with a Great Estates Program Kit. The kit contains documents needed for real estate and motor vehicle title transfer. Representatives will also answer questions about how to fill out and file the appropriate estate paperwork and be available to process real estate affidavits on-site.
