Winter people can be divided into two categories, and Cleveland Metroparks understands this better than most places.
We’ve got the explore-frozen-waterfalls folks or fireside-music people. Let’s start with the latter group.
From now through the rest of winter, Look About Lodge at the South Chagrin Reservation is hosting local musicians for cozy, indoor concerts next to a warm fire. The 1938 lodge is made with more than 300 American chestnut logs and is at the entrance to a hemlock forest overlooking Sulphur Springs Gorge. Sounds great, right?
Tickets are $8. Upcoming performers include:
Jan. 24 732 The Electric Duo – pop/rock/jazz
Jan. 31 Crooked River Stompers – ragtime orchestra
Feb. 7 The Wallace Coleman Band – Chicago blues band
To register and get more information about these and other fireside concerts go to the Metroparks website.
Oh, about those waterfalls. You’ll find a list of the best winter waterfall hikes within the Metroparks at this link. Two to try: Berea Falls in the Rocky River Reservation and Linda Falls in the Bedford Reservation.
