Join us in a celebration of the enduring power of silent film at the Cleveland Public Library downtown branch! The Cleveland Silent Film Festival presents a double bill of Charlie Chaplin’s SUNNYSIDE (1919), a film portraying the romantic (mis)fortunes of a put-upon farmhand, paired with WAR STORY (2001), a film by the Lorain-native LA-based filmmaker John Baumgartner, a poignant tale of a waiter and his love for a soldier, soon to be deployed to fight in the First World War. Both films shown with live original scores performed by Mike Petrone, legendary pianist of Johnny’s downtown.
