Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens opens Deck the Hall November 24-26, November 30, December 1-3, 7-23, and December 26-30 from 3 p.m.-8 p.m.
This annual holiday celebration features the Manor House interior decorated for the holidays and 1.2 million lights illuminating the pathways and grounds. Stan Hywet is located at 714 North Portage Path, in Akron.
Deck the Hall begins in the Carriage House Courtyard, where the centerpiece is an enormous, brightly lit Christmas tree.
In the Manor House, 20 rooms are decorated for Deck the Hall. The Music Room has the look of a traditional Christmas, and other highlights include the “Reindeer Flight Academy” in the Round Room, Santa and Mrs. Claus on a sleigh ride date night on the West Porch, an underwater mermaid party in Irene’s Room, and Santa—made of LEGO® bricks—on the Sleeping Porch. There are 26 Christmas trees in the Manor House decorated for Christmas.
DAZZLE features lights choreographed to holiday songs in the Great Garden, and the Corbin Conservatory is decorated with more lights and a giant poinsettia tree -another photo op. The Conservatory is also where guests may purchase poinsettias in a wide variety of colors.
Back in the Carriage House Courtyard, two animated shop windows, The Gingerbread Bakeshop and 1920s Akron at holiday time, are just outside Molly’s Shop, which is brimming with unique holiday gifts. Molly’s Courtyard Café sells refreshments, including hot gingerbread, cocoa, beer, wine and giant pretzels to enjoy before or after a Deck the Hall tour.
