If you’re like most of us planning to attend the upcoming Boomer Bash Monster Mash on October 26, you’ve got one burning question on your mind… What Halloween costume should I wear?
The next question is, Will this make me a winner in the Boomer Bash Monster Mash Halloween Costume Contest?
You read that correctly! We will be awarding prizes of $25 gift cards in three categories: Best Female Costume, Best Male Costume, and Best Couple/Group Costume. With a little friendly competition to up the ante, you’ll want to put extra creative effort into your costume.
Lucky for us, there are plenty of prognosticators forecasting the most popular Halloween costumes for 2023. The world’s largest online-only costume retailer halloweencostume.com makes their predictions according to which movies, television shows and video games people are talking about on social media. They also look at Google searches and their own internal search and sales data.
So, according to this expert in the field, the top trending Halloween costumes for women in 2023 are:
- Barbie
- The Little Mermaid
- Spider-Gwen and Spider-Woman
- Wednesday Addams
- Video Games, especially Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda
The top trending Halloween costumes for men this year are:
- Horror, especially Ghostface, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Chucky and Jason Voorhees
- Video games, especially Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Five Nights at Freddy’s
- Ken from the Barbie movie
- Superheroes, especially Spider-Man, Peacemaker, and The Boys
- Inflatables, especially dinosaur, ride-on, pick-me-up, and animals
But maybe you’re more of a traditionalist with nostalgia your go-to style. If so, you can’t go wrong with an ensemble representing a decade from your not-so-distant past:
- ‘50s Greaser or Cheerleader (leather or letterman jacket, bowling shirt, aviator sunglasses and doo-wop hair for the guys; poodle skirt, neck sash, ponytail, knit sweater, bobby socks for the gals).
- ‘60s Hippie or Flower Child (fringe, flowers, bell bottoms, peace signs, moccasins, sandals… you know the drill)
- ‘70s Disco Dancer (polyester, sequins, glitter, go-go boots, platform shoes, gold chains, etc.)
Then again, you could pull off a classic Halloween look as a witch, goblin, princess, clown, baby, schoolgirl, pirate, vampire, black cat, scarecrow, zombie, pumpkin, firefighter, chef, nurse, doctor, bat or other animal of your choice.
The options are endless, so start planning today.
