The 2020 Cleveland Oktoberfest, set to take place Labor Day Weekend at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, is canceled due to coronavirus. This marks the first cancelation in the event’s 15-year history. Producers are launching fundraising efforts to help support those affected by the cancelation.
The production team for the festival has been working closely with the festival’s board of directors and health departments at both the county and state level over the past several months.
“Our team developed multiple amended plans for the 2020 Cleveland Oktoberfest,” states Adam Roggenburk, president and chief executive officer of the production company. “However, the health and safety of our community remain, as always, a top priority and we are not willing to risk that. We are looking forward to creating an evolved festival in 2021 which will be a celebration of Bavarian culture like no other in Northeast Ohio.”
In an effort to support those affected by the festival’s cancelation in 2020, the production team will be offering two Cleveland Oktoberfest packages for purchase now through Labor Day Weekend.
“These packages are not only an opportunity to raise funds for organizations and entertainers hit by this pandemic; they will bring a piece of the festival into the homes of those who won’t be celebrating in-person with us this year,” says Roggenburk.
Package options include:
- Package A: $18 – Admission to any two days of the 2021 Cleveland Oktoberfest
- Package B: $48 – Admission to any two days of the 2021 Cleveland Oktoberfest, limited edition 2020 ClevelandOktoberfest t-shirt, souvenir steinPackages, along with further Oktoberfest information including a virtual bier run, can be found on ClevelandOktoberfest.com or on the festival’s Facebook page.
