Brew at the Zoo in Akron

The first Brew at the Zoo of the year is scheduled for  6:30-9:30 p.m. on Sat, June 21. The theme is Drink with the Extinct. Tickets include 8 sample tastings and admission to the zoo after hours, plus the experience of 20 life-size animatronic dinosaurs. 

Guests can sample beer and wine from local breweries and wineries. New this year is a specialty mocktail station, crafted by Erica Banks of Majestic Tails. The event also features dino-themed activities and live music from Blue Cadillac.

Vendors include Aeonian Brewing Company, Bent Ladder Cider and Wine, Broadview Brewing Company, CLE Urban, Lock 15 Brewing Co., Paradigm Shift Brewing Co., The Long Drink, The Phoenix Brewing Company, Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, Tramonte Distributing, White Timbers Winery and Wrecking Crew Brew Works. Food trucks, Eddies Famous Cheesesteaks, The Cookery and Ari’s Doghouse, will be on-site.    

Tickets are on sale at akronzoo.org/brew-at-the-zoo. Akron Zoo members are $43 and non-members are $48. Designated driver tickets are available for $25 for Akron Zoo members and $35 for non-members. A limited number of special VIP tickets are available at $58. VIP designated driver tickets are $30. VIP tickets include early entrance at 6 p.m., four additional tastings, a full-size drink and a special treat. 

Brew at the Zoo is 21 and older only, including designated drivers. Infants and children will not be admitted into the event.  

The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Peak season hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission rates are $11 – $21. Children under two are free and parking is free. For more information, visit  akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
