CIFF 49 Opens Thursday at Playhouse Square

It’s finally here.

The 49th annual Cleveland International Film Festival is bringing 300 films from 60 countries to Playhouse Square from Thursday through April 5.

The festival is followed by CIFF49 Streams which will take place April 6-13 online.

CIFF49 will showcase 300 films (104 features and 198 shorts). More than 295 filmmakers will be in Cleveland for Festival post-film Q&As, industry events, and additional audience interaction opportunities.

  • Get tickets in person at the CIFF Box Office (located in the outer lobby of the KeyBank State Theatre at Playhouse Square) Mondays-Wednesdays: 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m.,  Thursday: 10:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Fridays: 10:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Saturday: 8:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. and  Sunday: 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.

Ticket Pricing

  • Tickets for in-person screenings are $16 for CIFF members and $18 for non-members.
  • Tickets for CIFF49 Streams screenings are $12 for CIFF members and $14 for non-members.
  • Family Day Tickets are $10 for CIFF members and $12 for non-members.

Opening Night Film with Filmmaker Q&A + After Party
CIFF49 launches on Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. with the hilarious comedy, “FOR WORSE,” in the Connor Palace at Playhouse Square

About the film: Actress Amy Landecker (Transparent, “A Serious Man”) makes her feature screenwriting/directorial debut with this biting comedy of manners, starring as a newly divorced sober mom who accompanies her Gen Z date to a wedding where things crash and burn (literally) as she tries to keep up with the young wedding party. Directed by Amy Landecker. Produced by Amy Landecker, Bradley Whitford, Valerie Stadler, Jenica Bergere, and James Portolese. English with Closed Captions. 2025.

About the After-party: Get into a conversation with Director/ Producer/ Writer/ Actress Amy Landecker, Producer James Portolese, and Actress Missi Pyle during a filmmaker Q&A. Then, toast to the night! Guests are invited to stay for the exclusive after-party featuring DJ, dancing and desserts.

Opening Night Tickets are $100 for members and $125 for non-members.
