Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens presents the 57th Ohio Mart Oct. 3-6, 2024 on the estate. Hours for Ohio Mart are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Sunday. All tickets include a self-guided Manor House tour, and the Textile Arts Showcase presented by the Stan Hywet Needlework Guild.
Stan Hywet is located at 714 North Portage Path in Akron.
Set against the backdrop of the historic gardens in autumn and an Akron tradition, Ohio Mart showcases more than 140 exhibitors—a record—in a variety of media including sculpture, garden art, paintings, clothing, woodwork, pottery, home décor and jewelry. Vintage Finds and Curious Goods sells the unusual and the collectible, the Craft Shop features handmade items, and the Garden Committee has dried flower arrangements for sale, created from flowers grown in Stan Hywet’s Great Garden.
“Our dedicated group of volunteers in the Auxiliary Board produces Ohio Mart, a fundraiser for the estate. It’s a wonderful weekend to tour the Manor House, enjoy the gardens in fall and shop with talented artists,” says Jennie Highfield, President & Executive Director.
Among the lunch options in the Food Court are barbeque, Greek food, and Thai cuisine. Fresh, hot gingerbread cookies are an Ohio Mart tradition, and the Bakery Tent sells sweets from local bakeries. The Tudor Rose Pub features a selection of wine and craft beers.
Tours of the Manor House are included in the ticket price and feature fresh flowers in Inspiration in Bloom on the first floor. On the lower level, the Textile Arts and Artisan Show presented by the Stan Hywet Needlework Guild (SHNG) features demonstrations and displays of needlework and textile arts like weaving, spinning, lace making, needlepoint, and beading. The SHNG also hosts the Stitcher’s Fair, a place to buy affordably priced needlework supplies, as well as the children’s stitchery corner on Friday and Saturday of Ohio Mart.
TICKETS AND PARKING
Tickets to Ohio Mart are $19 for adults, $10 for youth, ages 3-17 and include a self-guided tour of the Manor House. Children 2 and under are free with an adult. Parking on the Great Meadow is $5, cash only. Off-site parking information is available at stanhywet.org
