Now that renovations are complete, Summit Artspace is reopening to the public with its ArtWalk, along with new exhibits featuring five local artists throughout all three floors of the historic Akron building.
To kick off the reopening, ArtWalk will be held from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, March 12. In partnership with Summit DD for Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, the event theme is focused on empowering all abilities. Admission is free and will feature creative activities, music, food, artist studios and pop-up art vendors.
Akron Art Museum at 1 S. High St. will be open to the public from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. during their free Thursday extended hours. They will be hosting photographer and Knight Prize winner Jess T. Dugan for an artist’s talk in their auditorium from 7-8 p.m.
Akron Soul Train gallery will be open for extended hours on Thursday’s ArtWalk at 191 S. Main St.
Art x Love at 35 S. Main St., will be open late with a variety of artists’ artwork on display for sale in the gallery.
Free parking is available at Summit Artspace, 140 East Market St.
