Death and taxes: two things most of us can’t avoid (I’m referring to the death part; the taxes seem to be another matter). But if you’re a regular person, it’s time to file, pay up, or snag a refund. Older adults can find plenty of help in Northeast Ohio, and one place to start is with the folks at Ben Rose and its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Cleveland.
IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers will assist folks in filing their taxes, helping them receive their refunds in as little as two weeks. Spanish-speaking services are available. The program is open to anyone who needs help with filing taxes, especially older adults and people with low- to moderate-incomes.
