People are beginning to see bald eagles in the wild here in the Cleveland area and across Ohio. In the 1600s, the bald eagle’s habitat and breeding range covered most of North America. By the 1970’s their population had deteriorated substantially, dropping off to numbers dangerously low. Harvey Webster, Director of Wildlife Resources at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, will be on hand Wednesday, August 1st at 7:00pm for a unique look at the return of this impressive raptor, our national bird. Romancing the Eagle: The Recovery of the Bald Eagle in Ohio is made possible by the Friends of the Solon Library.
