Fighting Fraud
By Better Business Bureau Serving Greater Cleveland
November has officially been designated “Thank a Business Month” by Better Business Bureau® (BBB®), as an initiative to recognize and celebrate the vital role businesses play in our communities. This month-long observance encourages individuals to express gratitude for all of those shaping our local business community, including entrepreneurs, employees, and business owners who contribute to the economy, create jobs, and strengthen communities.
November is the season of thanksgiving, and businesses are no exception. We can use this opportunity to show our appreciation for the hard work, innovation, and dedication that local businesses demonstrate each and every day.
“Businesses are the backbone of our communities,” says Pamela Anson, President and CEO of Better Business Bureau® (BBB®) Serving Greater Cleveland. “Everyone has a favorite local business. Whether it’s a coffee shop, neighborhood gift shop, or even your trusted mechanic, everyone has a hometown business they rave about. And, they deserve to hear your appreciation! Small gestures of gratitude can have a big impact.”
Ways to thank a local business:
- Support local businesses. Shop at neighborhood stores, dine at local restaurants, and support local services.
- Leave a customer review. Customer experiences matter to businesses! Leave a customer review on BBB.org.
- Refer your family and friends. Word of mouth is still the preferred method of recommendations. Have you had a good experience using a local business? Tell your family and friends to go there too!
- Connect and engage on social media. Follow local businesses on social media and like, comment, share, and post about your experience. Tag the local business so they hear the buzz.
- Participate in special promotions or events. Many businesses participate in community events or run specials during the holiday season. Get involved by attending events or sharing information, and encouraging others to do so as well.
The saying, Iit takes a village” can be applied to operating a business. Local businesses are constantly trying to bring positivity and growth to the community. Give back by sharing your appreciation.
